Summary
Corporate Social Responsibility (RSC) is a new organizational paradigm integrated
voluntarily within the strategies of the Spanish enterprises. In parallel with the theoretical
discourse the rules attempting to normalize these types of activities are increasing.
Nevertheless, these rules and public policies are not always coherent, especially when
they are attempting to combine economic purposes aiming to internationalize the
company in low income and post-conflict countries with public policies in the context of
development cooperation. The increasing demands for more transparency motivate the
companies to use more and more codes of ethics and Reports on sustainability. However,
the information provided in relation with their CSR policies beyond the limits of their
origin continue to be very insufficient concerning an evaluation that addresses the issue
of how CSR can be a driving force between the legitimate business interests and the legitimate
interests in the developing and post-conflict countries focussing on their social,
political and economic development. This article briefly revises the principal tools, rules
and systems most commonly used among the companies as well as the most relevant
national and international public policies with regard to CSR.
