RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND RELFEXIVE GLOBALIZATION: A SURVEY ON FAIR TRADE IN SPAIN[editar]

Ramón Llopis-Goig . Universidad de Valencia

Summary

During the last years, it has been suggested the emergence of a new kind of
consumption, called responsible consumption, characterized by values as solidarity, social
responsibility, human rights, multiculturalismand ecology. One of the proposals in which
it has been embodied the demand of these consumers, fair trade, is the main aim of this
paper. From a sample of Spanish fair trade products consumers, we show the importance
of the global cognitive orientation (a kind of planetary consciousness equivalent to the
reflexive dimension of the globalization) as explicative factor of that responsible consumption.
