CSR IN SPANISH MULTINACIONAL FIRMS VS POLITIC RISK IN DESTINY COUNTRIES. THREATEN OR OPPORTUNITY?

Summary

Multinational firms operating in countries with low institutional development and high degree of discretionary decision of the government has to have or develop political competitive advantages in order to manage the political risk and mitigate the market failure of those environments. Based upon a sample of Spanish multinationals has been found a positive relationship between the degree of internationalization and the level of political risk, measure by a corruption index. This is a relevant factor to be consider in the CSR strategy.
