Solidarity and efficiency, together better
Since ancient times the idea of a harmonic world has been upholded, as it was considered it would guide to happiness. Leibniz and other intellectuals idea was that we were in “the best possible world”, whereas Spinoza warned it only would be possible if we acted guided by reason, since otherwise some disturbances could happen affecting negatively that order. Indeed some utopias point out the causes of such disturbances: inequality produced by money and/or private property, and technology. The aim of this paper is to study how these economic disturbances have been considered in the most important utopias.
